This extensive residential remodel was designed in 2022 and is located in a rural setting just outside Rossland, British Columbia. A more modern aesthetic was desired a new roof structure as well with fewer valleys to avoid problems with snow. We developed a roof with 9-foot cantilevers to cover walkways and porches that almost wrap around the entire house. This also had the benefit of reducing summer overheating potential while still allowing lower winter sunlight to enter the home. Energy retrofit components included Low U-Value Windows, 2-inch exterior mineral insulation wraps the entire building envelope, added roof insulation, a new HRV and Air Source Heat Pump.
